ACN Europe

Headquartered in the Netherlands, ACN Europe uses our BSS and online self-service solutions to support their operations across 18 countries. For over 10 years, ACN has relied on our integrated technology solutions to help deliver complex services, including next-generation videophone and VoIP services for their consumer customers. Soon, they will roll out new mobile services to add to their product portfolio.

BT Business Mobile

BT chose our assured managed BSS service to support its re-entry into the UK mobile market as an MVNO. The fixed-line and mobile telecoms operator sought a partner who could provide a complete end-to-end solution. As a result, BT now benefits from our technology, services and expertise for its corporate mobile customer base. We also support the needs of multi-national business mobile customers for BT Global Services and M2M services for BT Redcare.

eircom Business

eircom Business, Ireland's largest telecommunications operator, has been using our next-generation managed BSS to enable services to the business and government sectors. The long-term partnership includes integrated analytics as part of the solution, from which eircom can enable one view of customer care and billing across its range of services.

Gogo

We've been working with Gogo, the leading provider of in-flight connectivity, for many years. As part of our partnership, we provide a fully managed, integrated revenue and customer management platform that delivers flexible pricing, payment, and analytics to help deliver the best possible customer experience for passengers using Gogo's In-Air Internet service.

Telefónica UK

Telefónica UK chose our integrated billing and customer management platform for its O2 brand. Our comprehensive platform provides an extensive range of capabilities and web services that enables the company to deliver complex convergent services to millions of its corporate and SME subscribers, as well as to more than a million machine-to-machine (M2M) subscriptions. O2 further enhances the business customer experience through our sophisticated self-service and e-billing capabilities.

TalkTalk Business

TalkTalk Business chose MDS as its partner for managed retail and wholesale BSS services. We met their business needs after a review that confirmed our technology and service solutions were uniquely placed to support the delivery of complex services to its business customers.

Mark Edwards | Chief Executive Officer

Mark joined the business as CEO in 2013, taking us into an exciting future as we enter new global markets. His blue-chip technology experience and reputation as 'growth CEO' have become established over the last 14 years, as he has led the rapid growth of a number of mobile businesses. Most recently, this includes Mformation, a company that Mark grew from a start-up to a global leader in mobile device management, supplying Tier 1 customers, and Aylus Networks, a leader in mobile video technology.

As CEO, Mark enables us to consolidate our current leadership status in BSS and managed services while moving into new industries to address the challenges of a rapidly converging telecoms sector.

Barry Dowd | Senior Vice President - Managed Service

Barry is responsible for the overall commercial relationship with our customers. He has gained over 25 years' extensive leadership experience in managing customer care and experience teams in the telecommunications and IT service provision industries. Today Barry leads the MDS Managed Service operation, which supports customers 24/7, 365 days a year.

Between 1983 and 1993 Barry was also a professional Rugby League player for Widnes RLFC, during which time they became World Club Champions and he collected many honours within the game. The commitment and experience gained from involvement in top-flight sport is now focused entirely on our customers!

Jennifer Fellows | Senior Vice President - Product Management & Marketing

Jennifer manages product evolution and marketing for our billing and real-time charging solutions. She has more than 20 years' experience in telecoms BSS, real-time charging, mediation and customer management systems. Prior to joining us at MDS, Jennifer held director and VP roles at major billing players, including bcgi, Argent Networks and CSG International, where she oversaw the global deployment of products and exceeded revenue targets.

She is an experienced and knowledgeable industry expert, speaking at many conferences and publishing thought-leading industry articles on the key billing and charging market issues.

Gary Haynes | Chief Operating Officer

Gary has over 20 years of commercial IT experience, working exclusively for enterprise product vendors, software houses and consulting service providers. His expertise spans a range of domains, including software engineering and quality, solution architecture, business development, large-scale programme delivery and outsourcing.

Prior to joining us at MDS, Gary was European Director of Delivery for the Outsourced Product Development group of Hitachi Consulting. He spent six years working for IBM and IBM business partners, driving solutions for enterprise service oriented architectures, as well as call centre, application and data centre optimisation.

Dave Thomas | Chief Financial Officer

Dave heads up our financial and commercial operations. He is the conscience of the business, ensuring we take commercially viable decisions.

After working at KPMG, Dave took up the role of CFO at ALG Software and helped double its size, with profitable growth, within two years. He ultimately drove the sale of the business to business objects for more than thirty times EBITDA. His role with us at MDS, which he began in October 2009, represents Dave's third CFO role within an international technology business.

David Mathers | Vice President Sales

David heads up the Sales teams and brings over 20 years’ experience in running business to business sales, working for global technology suppliers in the telecommunication sector. In addition, and to ensure we deliver the very best in quality and satisfaction, he leads the Account teams that focus on developing long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with our customers.

David has been with MDS for over 10 years and has worked with all existing customers to help introduce MDS’s unique range of billing and charging solutions. He is excited about leading a great team to spread the word on game changing solutions to the industry.

Martin Dawes | Founder and Chairman

Founder of the Martin Dawes Group of Companies, and Chairman of MDS, Martin has played a pivotal role in pioneering the UK's mobile industry. He has retained an active involvement in the industry for over three decades. Martin is one of the UK's few telecoms entrepreneurs to achieve such a high level of consistent success across the whole spectrum of the sector.


Dewi Thomas | Vice Chairman

Dewi first joined the Group in 1987 as finance director of Martin Dawes Telecommunications (acquired by BT Cellnet). He led the formation of Martin Dawes Systems (now MDS) in 1996 and has developed the brand into a strong business solutions company through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.


Sir Julian Horn-Smith | Non-Executive Director

Sir Julian Horn-Smith was a member of the founding management team of Vodafone Group Plc and is considered to be one of the principal architects in the development of Vodafone's International Strategy. He retired from the Vodafone Board in July 2006, where he held the title Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Sir Julian remains in the global telecom sector as a Senior Advisor to UBS Investment Bank, in London, Senior Advisor to CVC (Telecoms and Media), a Member of the Board of Digicel (the leading Caribbean and Pacific Operator) and Etisalat Group (a member of the Board and Advisor to the Chairman). Sir Julian is on the board of Acer Inc (Taiwan) and Vimplecom Ltd.

In 2004 he received a knighthood in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to international telecommunications.


Simon Blagden, MBE | Non-Executive Director

Simon has over 20 years' experience in the UK telecoms and IT industry and since 2004 has been Non-Executive Chairman of Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe Limited and is a member of Fujitsu UK's leadership team.

In 1995 he joined the main board of The Quante Group as International CEO and led the sale of the company to 3M in 2000.

In 1997, Simon was appointed Member of The Order of The British Empire for Services to UK Business and Export.

William J. Kelly | Non-Executive Director

Bill Kelly has been a Non-Executive Director of MDS since 2007, and this is one of a number of executive positions held across several organisations. He is Non-Executive Director of Lavastorm, a data analytics company based in Boston, MS USA and part of Martin Dawes Holdings. Bill was also a board director is SAIC.


Andrew Taylor | Non-Executive Director

Andrew has over 23 years' experience across multiple industries and sectors, and is currently the Group CEO of Nomad Digital.

In 2003 as CEO at Intec Telecom, a publicly listed software and services business with operations in over 45 countries, Andrew led the transformation of the business into a major global player, delivering significant stakeholder value through the sale of the business to CSG Systems for $380m.

ITIL is the most widely adopted approach for IT service management in the world. ITIL has been adopted by thousands of organisations worldwide, such as NASA, the UK National Health Service (NHS), HSBC bank and Disney™. ITIL is also supported by quality services from a wide range of providers, including examination institutes, accredited training providers and consultancies, software and tool vendors and well known service providers such as IBM, Telefonica UK, HP and BT.

ISO

ISO 9001 is by far the world's most established quality framework and sets the standard, not only for quality management systems, but management systems in general.

All our business and operational processes are developed and implemented to comply with ISO 9001:2008 to help meet your strategic business needs and ensure we deliver real operational advantages.

We maintain compliance and accreditation with ISO27001:2005, the best-practice specification that helps businesses and organisations throughout the world to develop an Information Security Management System (ISMS).

In addition, we're accredited with ISO22301 Business Continuity Management.

SSAE 16

SSAE 16, also called Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements 16, is a regulation created by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for redefining and updating how service companies report on compliance controls.

We maintain annual SSAE 16 Certification for our Managed Service operation, to confirm that our control objectives and control activities have been examined by an independent accounting and auditing firm.

TeleManagement Forum

TM Forum is the largest global trade association focused on bringing together the digital ecosystem, including communication service providers, digital service providers and enterprises, working with our members to enable an open digital world.

There are more than 900 member companies today who have joined the TM Forum. These member companies are widely recognised as industry leaders and they represent every major region around the world. The Forum members help shape the future by collaborating with other members on the development of best practices, standards and tools like APIs that support a vibrant and open digital ecosystem.
