ACN Europe

Headquartered in the Netherlands, ACN relies on the integrated technology solutions provided by MDS to help deliver multi-play services in 18 European countries, using one centralised billing implementation – MDS Customer Management Platform (CMP). ACN also used the extensive configuration features within CMP to launch its new MVNO quickly - JOi Telecom.

BT Business Mobile

BT chose our assured Managed Service to support its re-entry into the UK mobile market. The fixed-line and mobile telecoms operator sought a partner who could provide a complete end-to-end solution. As a result, BT now benefits from MDS technology, services and expertise for its corporate mobile customer base. We also support the needs of multi-national business mobile customers for BT Global Services and M2M services for BT Redcare.

Dixons Carphone

iD, the new MVNO from Dixons Carphone is being managed on MDS’ leading billing and customer management solution, CMP and operating on the Three network. This gives Dixons Carphone a unique advantage over its competitors, with its solution enabling them to build exciting new propositions for customers which can be rapidly deployed using the dynamically configurable platform.

eircom Business

eircom is the largest indigenous technology company in Ireland, providing fixed-line, data and mobile services in Ireland to approximately 2.4 million customers. eircom Business is using the MDS Customer Management Platform (CMP) to enable services to the business and government sectors. The long-term partnership includes integrated analytics for a comprehensive online overview, to help inform key business decisions across all types and sizes of organisations, and better manage mobile costs.

Telefónica UK

Telefónica UK chose the MDS integrated billing and customer management platform for its O2 brand. The comprehensive platform provides an extensive range of capabilities and web services that enable the company to deliver complex convergent services to millions of its corporate and SME subscribers, as well as to more than a million machine-to-machine (M2M) subscriptions. O2 further enhances the business customer experience through our sophisticated self-service and e-billing capabilities.

TalkTalk Business

TalkTalk Business, one of the UK’s leading providers of network, telecoms and broadband solutions in the B2B market, chose the MDS Customer Management Platform, CMP to deliver a wholesale billing solution. The MDS platform provides a consolidated view of all revenue and product data, enhancing the ability to deliver an improved customer experience and creating a single view of partner value to help drive improved decision making and insight.

Gary Bunney | Chief Executive Officer

Gary has been leading software companies focussed in the telecoms market for almost 20 years. Early in his career he established a new telecoms software division within ICL/Fujitsu which he ran for five years before going on to be a leader of Intec Telecoms. Here he played a pivotal role in growing the business to over £100m turnover in an eight year period.

Gary has extensive experience in all aspects of software and services business spanning sales, engineering and M&A. However throughout his career Gary has kept close to the market – always conscious that his overriding responsibility is to make sure our customers are delighted with the products and services we deliver.

Barry Dowd | Senior Vice President - Managed Service

Barry is responsible for the overall commercial service relationship with our customers. He has gained over 25 years' extensive leadership experience in managing customer care and experience teams in the telecommunications and IT service provision industries. Today Barry leads the MDS Managed Service operation, which supports customers 24/7, 365 days a year.

Between 1983 and 1993 Barry was also a professional Rugby League player for Widnes RLFC, during which time they became World Club Champions and he collected many honours within the game. The commitment and experience gained from involvement in top-flight sport is now focused entirely on our customers!

Gary Haynes | Chief Operating Officer

Gary has over 20 years of commercial IT experience, working exclusively for enterprise product vendors, software houses and consulting service providers. His expertise spans a range of domains, including software engineering and quality, solution architecture, business development, large-scale programme delivery and outsourcing.

Prior to joining us at MDS, Gary was European Director of Delivery for the Outsourced Product Development group of Hitachi Consulting. He spent six years working for IBM and IBM business partners, driving solutions for enterprise service oriented architectures, as well as call centre, application and data centre optimisation.

Russell Hunt | Chief Financial Officer

Russell heads up our financial operations. He is the conscience of the business, ensuring we take commercially viable decisions.

A Chartered Accountant with over 20 years' experience across a variety of sectors, Russell joins MDS from Agrivert Group Ltd where he was Group Finance Director. Prior to working at Agrivert, he was Group Finance Director at Sorex Holdings Ltd, where he helped the group deliver an impressive track record of profitable growth before subsequently being acquired by BASF Plc in 2008.

Ben McCafferty | SVP of Sales & Alliances

Ben heads up the global Sales teams and brings over 20 years' experience in sales, supporting global technology providers in the telecommunication sector. To ensure we deliver the very best in quality and satisfaction, he also leads the Account teams that focus on developing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our customers and partners.

Ben joins MDS from Redknee where he was Head of Sales and responsible for growth in the Middle East and Africa. Prior to this, he was VP Global Sales for Volubill. Ben will engage service providers in thinking about how they will approach digital transformation, which includes a focus on the increased demand for Managed Service and cloud. Partners will also be a key area of focus, to deliver even more value to MDS customers.

He is looking forward to supporting MDS' customers and driving international growth with strategic partners.

Martin Dawes | Founder and Chairman

Founder of the Martin Dawes Group of Companies, and Chairman of MDS, Martin has played a pivotal role in pioneering the UK's mobile industry. He has retained an active involvement in the industry for over three decades. Martin is one of the UK's few telecoms entrepreneurs to achieve such a high level of consistent success across the whole spectrum of the sector.

Dewi Thomas | Vice Chairman

Dewi first joined the Group in 1987 as finance director of Martin Dawes Telecommunications (acquired by BT Cellnet). He led the formation of Martin Dawes Systems (now MDS) in 1999 and has developed the brand into a strong business solutions company through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

Simon Blagden, MBE | Non-Executive Director

Simon has over 20 years' experience in the UK telecoms and IT industry and since 2004 has been Non-Executive Chairman of Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe Limited and is a member of Fujitsu UK's leadership team.

In 1995 he joined the main board of The Quante Group as International CEO and led the sale of the company to 3M in 2000.

In 1997, Simon was appointed Member of The Order of The British Empire for Services to UK Business and Export.

William J. Kelly | Non-Executive Director

Bill Kelly has been a Non-Executive Director of MDS since 2007, and this is one of a number of executive positions held across several organisations. He is Non-Executive Director of Lavastorm, a data analytics company based in Boston, MA USA and part of Martin Dawes Holdings. Bill was also a board director is SAIC.

Andrew Taylor | Non-Executive Director

Andrew has over 23 years' experience across multiple industries and sectors, and is currently the Group CEO of Nomad Digital.

In 2003 as CEO at Intec Telecom, a publicly listed software and services business with operations in over 45 countries, Andrew led the transformation of the business into a major global player, delivering significant stakeholder value through the sale of the business to CSG Systems for $380m.

ISO 9001 is by far the world's most established quality framework and sets the standard, not only for quality management systems, but management systems in general.

SSAE 16, also called Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements 16, is a regulation created by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for redefining and updating how service companies report on compliance controls.

We maintain annual SSAE 16 Certification for our Managed Service operation, to confirm that our control objectives and control activities have been examined by an independent accounting and auditing firm.

TeleManagement Forum

TM Forum is the largest global trade association focused on bringing together the digital ecosystem, including communication service providers, digital service providers and enterprises, working with our members to enable an open digital world.

There are more than 900 member companies today who have joined the TM Forum. These member companies are widely recognised as industry leaders and they represent every major region around the world. The Forum members help shape the future by collaborating with other members on the development of best practices, standards and tools like APIs that support a vibrant and open digital ecosystem.
